Gorgeous, reasonably-priced Turkish lamps and amazing hand-painted ceramic ware. It doesn’t get much better than that! Tiny votive candle holders are about 5 euro, desk lamps are 30-40 euro, and multi-shade large lamps will be a few hundred euro. Ceramics run from about 10 euro to about 80 euro, with a few pieces to be found on either side of that range. Everything in the store is breathtakingly beautiful and would make an incredible souvenir or a gift. The shopkeeper is very knowledgeable about her imports and speaks very good English.
Walking Directions: (close to Mother Teresa Cathedral, on Bill Clinton Boulevard) Starting from U.S. Embassy Bravo gate, take a right to walk down the hill to the main road (Ahmet Krasniqi). When you get to the circle, keep to your right and walk on the overpass over the train tracks and take the first right (onto Tirana). At the first main road, take a left onto Garibaldi. Walk straight through the next intersection. When the road comes to a “T,” make a right and walk toward Mother Teresa Cathedral (on Xhorxh Bush). Right after you pass the big cathedral, take a right at that big intersection (onto Bulevardi Bill Klinton) to walk behind the back of the church. After the first reddish group of buildings, ATA Turkish store will be in on the second floor on the right hand side of the street. Look for the pretty lamps in the windows.
